Learn about the best craft kits for toddlers, with doable projects, affordable pricing, and FUN educational materials.
Craft Kits for Toddlers
My girls are crazy into crafting and we almost always have a project (or two) going at any given time. It’s a fun way for kids to be creative and occupied, and I wanted to share some of the best craft kit options for little kids.
From monthly subscriptions to ones you can buy one at a time at the store, here are our favorite options for the creative kiddos in your life.
Kiwi Co Koala Crate
We love the Kiwi Co Koala Crate, which is a monthly craft box subscription that combines STEM, art, and hands on projects to deliver education and fun in an easy to use package.
I love that everything we need for the projects are included and that she can look at the illustrated instructions to help figure out how to do them.
We recently did a box that had a bug theme, so we made bug wings, a little ladybug bag, and played a bug matching game. She’s used these almost daily since then too, which is a nice added benefit to the subscription.
These craft box subscriptions are a great gift for grandparents to share with the kids—especially since they keep on giving throughout the year—and are such a fun way to keep the kids entertained…and to mix things up while spending all of this time at home.
In each box:
- 2-3 projects to spark learning through play
- Illustrated instructions in a guide for parents with additional inspiration
- A magazine for the kid with extended stories, puzzles, recipes, and more
- Online projects with hands-on ideas and activities for fun at-home
TIP: This is a subscription, so you subscribe to get a monthly box. There’s almost always a 30% off code to use if you sign up for their newsletter, so be sure to look on their site before signing up.
Kid Made Modern
If you’re looking for more of a set of craft supplies to do a lot of projects with, we love this My First Arts and Crafts Library from Kid Made Modern. We’ve been using it for a few months and both my 4 year old and 1 year old have been super into it!
TIP: You can find my go-to craft supplies for kids here if you want to pick out each individual item.
Olly Kids Jr. Arts and Crafts Supplies
Another option for a kit of supplies for open-ended crafting is this awesome one from Olly Kids. I love that there are stickers in this kit and that it comes with such great longer term storage.
Best Ideas for Kids
My friend Kimberly has a great assortment of craft kits from her brand Best Ideas for Kids that are perfect for both toddlers and older kids. Each kit is a specific project, so it’s an affordable way to try out a project.
We’ve done a few and my kids all loved them!
